Zone29
Most university buildings are designed around a single question: where do students learn.
Zone29 was designed around a harder one.
Westminster’s new home of careers and enterprise brings students, alumni, employers and the local business community into the same nine floors and more than 30 workspaces, on Marylebone Road in central London.
Getting that right is not simply a building design and delivery problem. It raises questions most campuses have not had to answer: who gets access to what, how you manage and schedule space across different audiences and stakeholders, and how you know whether any of it is working.
Linsey Cole, Director of Business Engagement and Graduate Futures at the University of Westminster, joins us live from inside the building to talk through the original vision, how it has landed with students, staff and alumni, and what she would do differently.
